Young Pianist’s Beethoven Competition
This competition is open to all
California residents attending high school (grades 9-12) in the
2009–2010 academic year. The repertoire includes any prelude
and fugue from The Well-Tempered Clavier, Books 1 or 2, and any
complete Beethoven piano sonata from Opus 2, No. 1, up to and
including Opus 90, but excluding Op.49, nos. 1 and 2.
The deadline for applications including a CD of the repertoire
is March 1, 2010.

GOAL: This competition provides
music students with an opportunity to exhibit their talent, reward
their hard work, and encourage them to appreciate music of diverse
cultural origins.
ELIGIBILITY: Students of all nationalities through age 17 or grade
12.
